My Ensembles
I'm the pianist with the Arcadian Trio, which includes some of the most in-demand string players in Philadelphia - violinist Igor Szwec and cellist Vivian Barton Dozor. Hailed for its virtuosity and style, the group has been featured on prestigious concert series, presenting themed programs I have developed which include commentary - and in some cases, a multimedia format with images.
The group has appeared at Bryn Mawr College and Rutgers and Arcadia universities and has been a favorite of the West Jersey Chamber Music Society and the Music at Abington series. Most recently, the trio appeared at the National Music Festival in Chestertown, Md.
I also perform duo recitals with the trio's cellist, Vivian Barton Dozor.
Bravos for the Arcadian Trio!
“The Arcadian Trio has now performed twice on our concert series, and both times we were treated to beautifully curated programs. Especially this year’s program, focusing on the music of female composers, was exquisite music performed with passion and warmth.”
Pauline Worusski, music director Lutheran Church of Our Savior (Haddonfield)
“A highly emotional, musically stunning performance…The erudite commentary which accompanied the music took the audience on a journey through familiar, yet at the same time, unfamiliar territory. It was a fascinating, moving and truly unique concert experience."
Joanna Barouch, East Brunswick (NJ) Arts Commission
The Arcadian Trio presented a musically beautiful and inspiring program. The audience was also moved by the added value of the brief and insightful narration that wove together these pieces and the unique situations faced by their composers.
John Sall, director, Music Ministries, Abington (PA) Presbyterian Church
The West Jersey Chamber Music Society has featured the Arcadian Trio on its seasonal concert series, always with well-deserved anticipation of wonderful and meaningful performances of great classical chamber music. Most recently, the trio presented a stunning concert titled “Music Transcends” in which the common thread was music by composers who suffered hardship and oppression and yet created masterworks. Also included was a new piece by composer Kile Smith, based on spirituals. For this and all their concerts, the Arcadian Trio elicited a very enthusiastic response.”
Joel Krott, music director, West Jersey Chamber Music Society (Moorestown)
“ ‘Music with a French Twist’ was an excellent program. Bravi! Our congregation and community benefited much from the oral program notes that shed light on the circumstances surrounding the composition of each of these fantastic works.”
Bryan Holten, assoc. minister of music, Wayne (PA) Presbyterian Church
