About Me

As a teacher, I take pride in bringing out the best in every student. My goal is to inspire and develop confident musicians who thrive in their musical journey.

As a performer, I enjoy sharing my music with others, and I appear in solo recitals and as a chamber musician and vocal accompanist. WInner of the Mason & Hamlin Competition, I've appeared in cultural centers, colleges and museums, including the Smithsonian Institution, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Carnegie (now Weill) Recital Hall.

My vocal trio, Follow the Drinking Gourd - named for the song used to guide slaves to freedom - and my chamber ensemble, the Arcadian Trio, composed of cello, piano and violin - have performed themed programs I've developed, using narrative and images to make the music accessible.

I've been a music critic and arts editor at major newspapers and served as staff accompanist for singers at Westminster Choir College. I've studied with concert pianist and former director of the Curtis Institute of Music, Gary Graffman, and hold a master's degree from Manhattan School of Music. In addition to teaching from my Cherry Hill, NJ, studio, I'm on the faculty of Settlement School of Music in Philadelphia.
